Easy to Fly

Easy to Fly

It’s not possible in a few sentences to explain why the Autocopter is so easy to fly, but the main reasons reside in its high degree of automation (from aircraft stability to height control, speed control and navigation), simplification of its controls (one joystick and one power lever) and the aircraft’s configuration of a coaxial main rotor for pure lift and a propulsion fan for both forward propulsion and braking. Hands-off flight to a known destination is really possible, as is remote pilotage of the aircraft between two points for ferrying purposes etc.

There is a supplementary document available from Horizon that goes into this aspect of the Autocopter in much more detail:   ‘Why the Autocopter is so easy and safe to fly’.
